Why we built it

Email has drifted a long way from a simple, trustworthy tool. Too many inboxes are cluttered with adverts, watched by trackers, and quietly mined to build a picture of who you are. We thought there was room for something more measured: an inbox that does its job well and then gets out of the way.

So we built England Mail from first principles. It is server-rendered and deliberately lightweight, with a small, well-understood set of moving parts. That restraint is not nostalgia for its own sake. It means fewer places for things to go wrong, a smaller attack surface, and software we can stand behind.

What we believe

We would rather be paid honestly for a good service than quietly monetise your privacy. That is why our free plan is genuinely free and advert-free, and our paid plans simply buy you more room, not fewer intrusions.

Independent, and clear about it

England Mail is operated by England Mail Ltd, a small independent company. We are proud to build in Britain, and we take the traditional virtues of good correspondence seriously: privacy, reliability and a certain quiet courtesy.

To be completely clear: we are not a government service and we are not a postal authority. We are an independent company, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any national postal service or public body. Our crest is our own.

Where we are

We are early. England Mail launched in 2026 and we are building steadily, in the open, guided by the people who use it. If there is something you would like to see, we would genuinely like to hear it.
